ishthestomach As artists when we are new to our craft, we have yet to find our voice. Imitation may be sincere flattery but biting is simply sin. At different times I've had my work compared to one MC or another, sometimes the comparison would reflect the influences of which I was aware. I've walked away from fresh writing saying "I've been listening to too much Slug;" "...too much DOOM."
Def-i is the only MC whose style (in an a capella at Breaking Hearts, in NM) left an impression prompting me to imitate.
